A tribute to the well known & unique voice of BBC Hindi Service Sh. Narayan Bareth ЁЯЩП
I met him personally during the PLF (Literature festival) on 27.01.2019 behind the Bhishma Sahani Manch where he was a moderator on the discussion on " Rajniti ki Thag Vidya" and it felt me quite at home when I talked him about the Rajasthan and specially Ratangarh. It feels me proud to tell that he was also a "Raghunath Vidyalaya Ratangarh alumni like me that was a happy bond between us. Whenever he used to come to Ratangarh area he posted vedios on facebook of the "Holi Gindar of Momasar" and other social activities.
He appreciated my passion of writing poetry and used to share some of my poems frequently. I used to wish him on festivals of Diwali and Holi on the bond of school fraternity,as rural scholar like him and as a writer. His memory was very sharp and he was very quick in response. Holi always remained in his heart specially of "Momasar, Rajaldesar and Geegji Kua Ratangarh Gindars" of which he was a great fan.
He had a nice career as BBC Hindi correspondent , then as a Professor of Journalism and the adorned the prestigious post of State Information Commissioner of Rajasthan . He had an equal command on Hindi, Urdu and English languages .His tweets on X usually had quotations of great personalities of the world. It is very unfortunate that we have lost him at an early age of 68 on dated 06.03.2026 i.e. 3 days after his favourite festival of this year.
Men dies but deeds never
His voice whispers in my ears
with same flavour and
Will do so forever.
